Are there any reasons for Kosovo NOT to gain independence?

And while 'you've been looking over it', did you happen to ask yourself about the reasons why there is such a high percentage of one ethnicity in Kosovo? How did this Albanian majority happen to be there in the first place? And why are they being awarded now for this purely ethnic province if Europe is all about multiculturalism and mixed nationalities within democratic states? Why don't the Serbs populate their own historical land? That should be reason enough for Kosovo never to have independence: because basic human rights are being denied to an entire nation, the Serbs, whose territory it is.
