There are no custodial papers drawn out can i still take my child out of state?

my husband threw me out of the house and i had nowhere else to go he has my child and i am currently in arkansas there are no custody papers or any other papers he just told me he filed for divorce, ive not even seen those papers i just want my son back its been almost a month since i could hold him in my arms. i am so tired of missing out in his life
