Will college location affect career opportunities?

I am not sure of any other good non-southern universities since I am a girl from the south, but I completely encourage you to go against your dads wishes and attend the university you feel you will be happiest at. It is the MOST important aspect of your college education, to be somewhere where you are happy and feel there is opportunity to you-what motivation, focus, and drive you will have living in the city or near the cities you could possibly start your career. Plus like you said, if you have the grades to get accepted into your top three dream schools-don't let money or parental influence your goal-yes your parents are a huge part in choosing your college experience but they will eventually support your decision and be overjoyed when they see how much you are going to grow and succeed in an environment you want to be in! Also don't let finances be an issue- apply for every scholarship you can and get stanford loans-no one can take away your education so go get it :) good luck, hope this helped
