How come Singaporean women like White men so much?

My friend in Singapore wants me to detour my trip to Korea/China/Japan because he tells me that there are several Singaporean women that will only date white men. Asking a few people through Facebook they also tell me that it is true. Being that I am a 22-year-old single White male this sounds very enticing. Is this true?
