Can I file a law suit for infringement of character?

Can I file a law suit against my friend for infringement of character? She's a pathological liar who is always slandering me to other people and likes to manipulate and play with people's emotions. She is sadistic, she likes to inflict pain on other people. I believe God will punish her for everything that she has done, and that she will suffer tremondously for her crimes. I am filing a lawsuit against her not because I want justice (since God will take care of that) but because I want to embarr her in front of all of her friends and especially in front of her boyfriend.
